James Brothers

The James brothers were infamous outlaws who are often portrayed as heroes of the western frontier. They were Bank robbers, train robbers, murderers, and Jesse James (the younger brother) was the leader of the James-younger gang. Frank James was 18 when the civil war started, and due to a harsh life through the civil war, society turned him and his brother to rebels of society. James was murdered on April 3, 1882, he was shot in the back of the head in his own home by a man he trusted, Bob Ford, who was aided by his older brothers. Ford was pardoned by the governor ofMissouri2 hours after the horrific act. Frank lived a full life and died at the age of 72, He was not as infamous as his brother Jesse James. The James Brothers cause a big controversy as to how they are portrayed in American history; they are portrayed as social rebels, outlaws and outcasts of society, as well as heroes of the western frontier.

Jamestown vs. Massachusetts Bay Colony

People who came to Jamestown were unprepared and planned poorly. They came to the “New World” as thrill seekers and adventurers with the single purpose of growing the cash crop tobacco, and therefore, they refused to fish, hunt, and farm for food, this lead to many deaths  by starvation. They also had poor farming soil that was almost incapable of growing basic food crops necessary to survive.

Puritans came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in order to escape religious persecution from the Anglican church. These people had good, rich, farming soil, which was perfect for growing food crops, also, in the south, tobacco. these people were eager to work and make a life for themselves in the “New World” around 15,000 people came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the Great migration.
